Controversy

The similarities with the Japanese Textbook series {{ill|Chart-Style Math|jp|チャート式|vertical-align=sup}} ({{Langx|ja|チャート式数学}}) have caused the author to receive accusations of plagiarism.{{Cite web|url=http://monthly.chosun.com/client/mdaily/daily_view.asp?idx=7247&Newsnumb=2019067247|title=[金成東의 인간탐험] 수학의 定石 저자 洪性大 상산학원 이사장|date=2019-06-20|website=monthly.chosun.com|language=ko|access-date=2019-08-17}} The chapter division, style of explanation, and formatting are visibly similar between the books. For instance, in the Japanese books, the order of questions are in "Example Questions, Practice Questions, Exercise Questions," while in The Art of Mathematics it is "Example Questions, Similar Questions, Practice Questions". The author Hong has denied all accusations, although he has admitted that the questions in the books were selected from 20 reference books around the world.
