The Blues Album is a compilation album by British hard rock band Whitesnake, released on 19 February 2021 by Rhino Records.{{cite web |title=Whitesnake's The Blues Album Available On February 19 From Rhino |url=https://www.rhino.com/article/whitesnakes-the-blues-album-available-on-february-19-from-rhino |publisher=Rhino Records |accessdate=7 January 2021 |date=15 November 2023}} It reached Top 10 in Switzerland and Top 15 in Germany album charts.
The album contains "revisited, remixed and remastered" versions of previously released blues-hard rock songs, and is the third in a series called Red, White and Blues Trilogy following white's The Rock Album and red's Love Songs (2020).{{cite magazine |url=https://www.rockhard.de/reviews/whitesnake-the-blues-album |title= Whitesnake - The Blues Album |date=29 March 2021 |website=Rock Hard |volume=406 |access-date=16 November 2023}}
Content
According to the album's executive producer David Coverdale, some songs "have been musically embellished where my co-producer Michael McIntyre, my new mixer Christopher Collier and I felt it appropriate or necessary to bring out the best in these songs".{{cite web |title=WHITESNAKE: THE ROCK ALBUM Available June 19th |url=https://www.rhino.com/article/whitesnake-the-rock-album-available-june-19th |publisher=Rhino Records |access-date=29 May 2020 |date=17 April 2020}}{{cite web|url=https://blabbermouth.net/news/david-coverdale-on-whitesnakes-red-white-and-blues-trilogy-weve-given-everything-a-fresh-coat-of-paint|title=DAVID COVERDALE On WHITESNAKE's 'Red, White And Blues' Trilogy: 'We've Given Everything A Fresh Coat Of Paint'|work=Blabbermouth.net|date=16 June 2020|access-date=15 November 2023}}
According to Coverdale "it's hard to find the words to show how profoundly they connected with my soul. But 'blues' to me is a beautiful word that describes emotional expression... feelings, be it feelings of sadness, loneliness, emptiness... but, also those that express great joy, celebration and dance, sexiness and Love!".{{cite web |title=Whitesnake / The Blues Album |url=https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/whitesnake-the-blues-album/ |publisher=Rhino Records |access-date=9 January 2021 |date=15 November 2023}}{{cite web|url=https://ultimateclassicrock.com/whitesnake-blues-album/|title=Whitesnake Announce 'The Blues Album' Compulation|work=Ultimate Classic Rock|date=16 June 2020|access-date=15 November 2023}}
