History
The Daily Gazette was founded in 1894{{LCCN|sn84031953|Daily Gazette (Schenectady, N.Y.) 1894-1902|long=yes}} as a weekly newspaper by the Marlette family. It was sold to the Schenectady Printing Association in September of that year, and expanded into a daily newspaper, while still publishing its weekly edition. From 1902 to 1989 inclusively, the newspaper's title was Schenectady Gazette.{{LCCN|sn83031693|Schenectady Gazette (Schenectady, N.Y.) 1902-1989|long=yes}} In 1990, the paper changed its name to The Daily Gazette (thus reverting to its initial title but including the definite article in the title).{{LCCN|sn90066111|The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, N.Y.) 1990-Current|long=yes}} Also in 1990, it began publishing a Sunday edition. Judith Patrick became editor of the newspaper in 2012.
