The House That Dirt Built is the second studio album by English rock band The Heavy. It was released on 5 October 2009. The title is a reference to the nursery rhyme This Is the House That Jack Built. Vocalist Kelvin Swaby explained in an interview with Songfacts that the song "Sixteen" was inspired by a time when he was working a lot as a DJ and he would see 16-year-old kids sneaking into clubs.{{cite web|url=http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=20251|title=Sixteen|work=Songfacts.com|accessdate=2010-11-06}}

The album's songs were used for several video games and films; "Short Change Hero" was featured in the promo for the first season of Haven, the 2010 movie Faster, the trailer for the 2011 video game Batman: Arkham City, later opened the 2012 video game Borderlands 2, and the promo for Season 2 of Longmire.{{YouTube|aWrO_7YKpEA}}{{YouTube|zWL0SvZFGCM}}{{YouTube|gnQyFh9x77M|Longmire Season 2 trailer}} It is also the opening theme of the Sky1 television series Strike Back and was included in the 2011 racing video game Driver: San Francisco (along with two other songs from the band) as well as the Season 2 finale of Suits.{{cite web|url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gn8_137btc |archive-url=https://ghostarchive.org/varchive/youtube/20211220/6gn8_137btc |archive-date=2021-12-20 |url-status=live|title=Short Change Hero - The Heavy - Strike Back Theme - Lyrics/Tradução|last=TutuIdiotaI|date=11 October 2011|publisher=|accessdate=25 February 2017|via=YouTube}}{{cbignore}}{{cite web|url=https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3337593/|title=The Heavy|website=IMDb |publisher=|accessdate=25 February 2017}}{{cite web|url=http://www.tunefind.com/show/suits/season-2/13493|title=Music from Suits S2E16|publisher=|accessdate=25 February 2017}} The song "How You Like Me Now?" was featured at the beginning and end of the 2010 film The Fighter, in the Season 3 finale of Suits, in the trailer for the 2012 film Ted, during the closing credits for Horrible Bosses, the closing credits for Borderlands 2, and then again in a TV spot for the 2013 animated film, Turbo.{{cite web|url=http://www.theshiznit.co.uk/trailer/official-all-mark-wahlberg-trailers-to-feature-how-you-like-me-now.php|title=Official: All Mark Wahlberg trailers to feature 'How You Like Me Now' - Movie Trailer - TheShiznit.co.uk|publisher=|accessdate=25 February 2017}}{{YouTube|oBZvcxC38CQ}}{{cite web|url=http://www.justisntmusic.com/news/030713-the-heavy-how-you-like-me-now-in-turbo-trailer/|title=Just Isn't Music – 03/07/13 The Heavy 'How You Like Me Now?' in Turbo trailer|publisher=|accessdate=25 February 2017}}
