King Charles said that he had wanted to share "songs which have brought me joy" and that music had the ability to "bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places. But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration".{{cite news|last=Coughlan|first=Sean|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0jg9ej244do|archive-url=|title=The King reveals his playlist, from Marley to Kylie|date=10 March 2025|work=BBC News|accessdate=10 March 2025|archivedate=}}{{Cite web |date=2025-03-10 |title=King Charles has revealed his favourite songs.
