The Reid Report was an hour-long weekday U.S. and world political commentary program on MSNBC. Hosted by Joy-Ann Reid a Democratic Party reporter, it premiered on February 24, 2014, in the time slot formerly occupied by NewsNation with Tamron Hall. The show ended on February 27, 2015 due to low ratings, and Reid was shifted to another role as MSNBC national correspondent.{{cite news|last=Steinberg|first=Brian|title=MSNBC to Launch Ronan Farrow, Joy Reid In Daytime|url=https://variety.com/2014/tv/news/msnbc-to-launch-ronan-farrow-joy-reid-in-daytime-1201072724/|accessdate=January 27, 2014|publisher=Variety|date=January 27, 2014}} Reid later hosted AM Joy, a weekend-morning talk show on MSNBC from May 2016 to July 2020, when she was moved to the 7pm weeknight slot to host The ReidOut, which replaced the slot occupied by Hardball with Chris Matthews,{{cite web |date=July 9, 2020 |title=MSNBC Appoints Joy Reid as Chris Matthews' Replacement |url=https://apnews.com/dd02025d9417394ed287d0d0e0a58353 |access-date=July 9, 2020 |publisher=Associated Press|author-last1=Bauder|author-first1=David}} making her cable's first Black female primetime anchor.{{Cite news |last=Flint |first=Joe |date=2020-06-24 |title=MSNBC Expected to Tap Joy Reid to Anchor Daily News and Opinion Program |url=https://www.wsj.com/articles/msnbc-expected-to-tap-joy-reid-to-anchor-daily-news-and-opinion-program-11593041370 |access-date=2021-01-28 |work=Wall Street Journal |language=en-US |issn=0099-9660}}{{Cite web |last=Daniels |first=Karu F. |date=June 25, 2020 |title=MSNBC anchor Joy Ann Reid reportedly set to take over Chris Matthews' former 'Hardball' time slot |url=https://www.nydailynews.com/snyde/ny-msnbc-joy-reid-take-over-hardball-slot-20200625-mto3aobypvdxbkccuk7bsrtnii-story.html |access-date=2021-01-28 |website=nydailynews.com}}{{Cite news |last=Barr |first=Jeremy |date=July 9, 2020 |title=Joy Reid named new MSNBC host for 7 p.m. hour |url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2020/07/09/joy-reid-named-new-msnbc-host-7-pm-hour/ |access-date=December 15, 2022 |newspaper=The Washington Post}}
