Critical reception

Richard Smith from Melody Maker named it one of the Singles of the Week and "so damned good." He wrote, "'There's Nothing I Won't Do' isn't quite up there with 'Son of a Gun' or 'You Belong to Me', but it still wees all over the rest of the records released this week. Here, little Jake, Camberwell's finest teenage bedroom boffin, pulls out all the stops on his Roland thingamabob to make a record so pent up and furious it sounds like it could spontaneously combust at any moment. And then he goes and gets a big black woman to shout nonsense on top of it over and over again. Which is fine by me."{{cite magazine|first=Richard|last=Smith|url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/nothingelseon/53672286154/|title=Singles|magazine=Melody Maker|date=18 May 1996|page=47|access-date=14 May 2024}} James Hamilton from Music Week's RM Dance Update described it as a "grandiose swirly anthemic Euro-ish galloper".{{cite magazine|url=https://worldradiohistory.com/UK/Music-Week/1996/Music-Week-1996-05-04.pdf|first=James|last=Hamilton|title=DJ Directory|magazine=Music Week, in Record Mirror (Dance Update Supplemental Insert)|date=4 May 1996|page=11|accessdate=16 August 2021|author-link=James Hamilton (DJ and journalist)}} Retrospectively, Dave Fawbert from ShortList called it "an absolutely awesome slice of mid-'90s dance in a thoroughly N-Trance style. God it's brilliant."{{cite web|url=https://www.shortlist.com/news/now-that-s-what-i-call-music-96-vs-now-that-s-what-i-call-music-34|last=Fawbert|first=Dave|title=Who would win in a fight: 'Now That's What I Call Music! 96' vs 'Now That's What I Call Music! 34'|website=ShortList|date=31 March 2017|access-date=21 April 2020}}
