Thomas Snyder (born c. 1980){{cite news |work=San Jose Mercury News |title=Solving puzzles is in sudoku champ's genes |author=Lisa Fernandez |date=May 9, 2008}} is an American puzzle creator and world-champion sudoku and logic puzzle solver. He is the first person to win both the World Sudoku Championship (3 times) and the World Puzzle Championship. Early life and education

Thomas Snyder grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York.{{cite web|title=motris - User Profile |url=http://motris.livejournal.com/profile |accessdate=November 23, 2010 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110822130750/http://motris.livejournal.com/profile |archivedate=August 22, 2011 }} He attended Amherst Central High School before getting chemistry degrees from the California Institute of Technology and Harvard University and doing post-doctoral work at Stanford University's bioengineering department.
