Reception

Mak Mun San of The Straits Times penned a mostly negative review, writing, "To be fair, there are enough twists and turns in the plots to keep you mildly entertained. Sadly, all the efforts of the scriptwriters go down the drain, no thanks to the never-ending histrionics. The result? Just imagine the worst moments of Taiwanese Hokkien dramas and Korean tearjerkers rolled into one painful package."{{cite news |last=Mak |first=Mun San |date=27 September 2004 |title=Much ado about nothing - Buckets of tears, frenzied shouting, hysterical wailing and still more histrionics fill these serials that copy the worst of Taiwan and Korean shows |url=https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/1055D5CA15D12BF7&f=basic |newspaper=The Straits Times |accessdate=13 April 2025 |archiveurl=https://archive.today/2025.04.13-010717/https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/1055D5CA15D12BF7&f=basic |archivedate=13 April 2025 }}
