International career

Kim Thanh was Vietnam's starting keeper at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, where she rose to international prominence for her heroic goalkeeping display. Prior to their opening match against the United States, Vietnam were expected to lose by a very large margin, and were compared to the Thailand team that lost 0–13 to the United States at the 2019 edition of the tournament.{{Cite web |last=McIntyre |first=Doug |date=21 July 2023 |title=Don't fret if USWNT doesn't blow out Vietnam in World Cup opener |url=https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/dont-fret-if-uswnt-doesnt-blow-out-vietnam-in-world-cup-opener |access-date=2023-07-24 |website=FOX Sports |language=en-US}}{{Cite web |last=O'Connor-Simpson |first=Matt |date=2023-07-20 |title=Can Vietnam avoid 'doing a Thailand'?
