The Trappe River is a tributary of the Wisconsin River in Marathon County and Langlade County in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. Other spellings include Trapp and Trap.{{GNIS|1575574}} In Ojibwe it was known as Tah-so-so-win-ing Se-be.{{cite journal |last=Calkins |first=Hiram |date=1854 |title=Indian Nomenclature, and the Chippewas |url=http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/cdm/ref/collection/whc/id/15147 |journal=Wisconsin Historical Collections |publisher=State Historical Society of Wisconsin |volume=1 |pages=119–126 |access-date=April 2, 2015 }} Its source is in the town of Ackley and its confluence with the Wisconsin is midway between Merrill and Wausau.
