Trauma Studios was an American video game developer company founded in 2003. On September 1, 2004, Digital Illusions CE bought Trauma Studios which became DICE New York. Since then, they had been collaborating on creating the first-person shooter Battlefield 2, follow-up to Battlefield 1942. In January, 2006, the team behind Trauma Studios was hired by publisher THQ to create a new internal development studio known as Kaos Studios.
