Trichophorum alpinum, commonly known as alpine bulrush{{PLANTS|id=TRAL7|taxon=Trichophorum alpinum|accessdate=14 December 2015}} or cotton deergrass,{{Cite web|url=https://www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id42240/|title=BioLib: Biological library}} is a species of flowering plant in the sedge family. It has a circumboreal distribution, occurring throughout the northern latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. It is present in Europe, Asia, and northern North America.Williams, Tara Y. 1990. This sedge produces stems up to {{convert|40|cm|sp=us}} tall from a short rhizome. The leaves are no more than a centimeter long. This plant grows in bogs and calcareous mountain meadows.
