Trinity Bridge is the eleventh bridge overall and the seventh bridge over the River Cam's middle stream in Cambridge. The bridge is part of the Avenue, which connects the main buildings of Trinity College with the Trinity College Fellows' Garden, across Queen's Road. It is a Grade I listed building.{{NHLE|num=1331804|desc=TRINITY COLLEGE, TRINITY BRIDGE |access-date= 13 April 2017}}
The triple-arch road bridge was built of Portland and Ketton stone in 1764-5 to the designs of James Essex. The material for the bridge's construction was partially sourced from the old bridge of 1651-2. The old bridge itself replaced an earlier one, destroyed by the Parliamentarian forces in the English Civil War.{{Cite book |url=https://www.british-history.ac.uk/rchme/cambs/pp209-244 |title=An Inventory of the Historical Monuments in the City of Cambridge |publisher=Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England |year=1959 |chapter=Trinity College |access-date=13 July 2024 |archive-date=2 October 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231002170907/https://www.british-history.ac.uk/rchme/cambs/pp209-244 |url-status=live }}

The cost for the bridge's construction was defrayed from a bequest from Dr. Francis Hooper (1694-1763), a Senior Fellow at Trinity College. Consequently, the bridge bears the triple-turreted coat of arms of the Hooper family, as well as that of Trinity College.{{Cite web |title=Francis Hooper |url=http://trinitycollegechapel.com/about/memorials/sculptures/hooper/ |access-date=2024-07-13 |website=Trinity College Chapel |archive-date=2021-11-26 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20211126092717/http://trinitycollegechapel.com/about/memorials/sculptures/hooper/ |url-status=live }}
