Until the end of 2011 the city offices were located in an Art Nouveau-style building completed in 1909, originally an apartment building by the river Aura. In 2010 the building was sold by the city to a group of investors. Their plan is to refurbish it back into an apartment building.{{cite web|url = http://www.turku.fi/public/default.aspx?contentid=161983&nodeid=11826|title = Kaupunki teki kaupat Kristiinankatu 1:stä|publisher = City of Turku|date = 18 March 2010|access-date = 7 April 2013|language = fi|url-status = dead|archive-url = https://archive.today/20130701134859/http://www.turku.fi/public/default.aspx?contentid=161983&nodeid=11826|archive-date = 1 July 2013}}{{cite news |title= Turku myy Kristiinankatu 1:n kuudella miljoonalla eurolla|author= Heino, Jari|url= https://www.ts.fi/uutiset/118450|date= 16 March 2010|access-date=5 April 2013|language=fi}}
