History
A quarry named Turret Hill Quarry was located on the southeastern flank of Turret Hill. Established in the mid-1960s, it initially served as a borrow area, and was converted into an aggregate quarry in the late 1970s. Rock extraction ceased at the quarry in 1984.{{cite book |last1=Irfan |first1=T.Y. |last2=Nash |first2=J.M. |date=January 1992 |title=GEO Report No. 7.
