He was the King of Western Mpondoland, the son of King Victor Poto Ndamase]. He was father to Xhosa Queen Nondwe Sigcawu the wife of King [[Xolilizwe Sigcawu; AmaRharhabe Queen Nolizwe Sandile the wife of King Mxolisi Sandile and mother of King Maxhob'ayakhawuleza Sandile; and Chieftain Nolusapho Mabandla of the wife of AmaBhele Chief Thandathu Jongilizwe Mabandla.

Ndamase represented the Transkei National Independence Party (TNIP) until 1987, when the party was abolished following the coup d'état led by Bantu Holomisa. He died on 21 February 1997 at the age of 76.
