Mayotte (claimed by the Comoros but under French administration) is also mentioned in the song.
History
The anthem replaced a previous anthem titled "{{lang|swb|italic=no|Ungwana}}" ("Liberty"), also known as "{{lang|swb|italic=no|Comor Masiwa Mane}}" ("Four Comorian Islands"),{{Cite web|title=Comores, Constitution de 1977, Digithèque MJP|url=https://mjp.univ-perp.fr/constit/km1977.htm|access-date=2022-01-11|website=mjp.univ-perp.fr}} adopted in 1976 under the Ali Soilih administration following a competition won by writer and musician Abou Chihabi.{{Cite journal|last=Ahmed|first=Daniel|date=2020|title=Idéologie et poésie révolutionnaire aux Comores|url=https://hal.univ-reunion.fr/hal-02474951/document|journal=Carnets de Recherches de l'océan Indien|publisher=Université de La Réunion|page=111 (22 in file)|id=[https://hal.univ-reunion.fr/hal-02474951 hal-02474951]|access-date=2022-01-11|via=}} It was used until 1978, when a coup by Ahmed Abdallah and Bob Denard took place.
