Notable Events
In early 2025, Fatema was reportedly selected to receive the Madeleine Albright Honorary Group Award, a U.S.-sponsored recognition. However, she declined the award, citing concerns over the perception of foreign influence in domestic student movements. The decision drew both praise and criticism, with some viewing it as a statement on political autonomy.{{Cite web |last=Sun |first=Daily |date=2025-03-30 |title=Umama Fatema personally rejects US award |url=https://www.daily-sun.com/post/798519 |access-date=2025-05-15 |website=daily-sun |language=en}}
