- Type in your user name
- Select a password
- Repeat the password
- Type in your e-mail -- officially an optional step, but really a must if you're going to be working across multiple wikipedias
- Click the "save login info" box
- Hit the "save" button ("创建新账户" in this case)

- Select "en-English" from the upper drop-down box that now says "zh - 中文".
- Ignore the lower drop-down box and other settings for now.

Make sure the three check boxes are checked; in order, they are:
- "Remember my login on this computer"
- "Enable e-mail from other users"
- "Send me copies of emails I send to other users" (optional)
You can ignore the other settings for now.
When done, select the left button: "保存参数设置" ("save"). (If you hold your cursor over a buttons, you should get a tooltip. Control-S is always "save" in any wikipedia.)
