Nevzorov Haute Ecole (NHE)- is a modern horse-school created by Alexander Nevzorov and his wife Lydia Nevzorova. The school is based on the ancient principles of Antoine de Pluvinel.

According to the school principles the horse is viewed not as a means of transport nor tool for entertainment, but as an equal and astonishing living being.Natural Horse Magazine, Volume 9 Issue 1,The school present a new form of training and living with horses, but they reject riding for the benefit of the horse.

Goals

All pupils of NHE study equine anatomy and horse management, the aim of the school is to teach their horses elements of haute ecole and school jumps without a rider. They do this with a free horse.

During working with a horse the use of bits, spurs or other helping reins is forbidden, because of the negative effect it has on the horse's health.“Metal in the Mouth. The Abusive Effects of Bitted Bridles” by Dr. Robert Cook p.56 Only a loose band around the horse`s neck (called cordeo) is allowed.

The school think that the horse is capable to express his feelings and physically needs."Animal Thinking" Griffin;Press of University of Harvard 1984 , p. 163

The school of Nevzorov places special importance on the physical and mental health of the horses. Mutual understanding and communication is learned during playing and the physical power, with several incremental exercises. The individuality of every horse is supported and personality can develop. Grooming and physical contact, with the horse, is desirable.Horses for Life Nov 2007 Vol. 27 [http://horsesforlife.com/WhoIsAlexanderNevzorov/ Horses for Life- Magazine]

Background and theory

Founded in Russia (2004),the school of Nevzorov claims to have followers all around the world (USA, Australia, Europe).

It works on mutual understanding and is based on friendship."Horse as Teacher - The Path to Authenticity with Horses" by the authors of horse concious The school was involved into the production of different DVDs, which describe a new way of training/educating horses.

You do not have to be dominant, to teach your horse new exercises and have fun together."The Path of the Horse", DVD, produced by Hempfling,Nevzorov and others

But some of the difficult figures are not allowed to perform before the horse is physically developed. The horse`s health is always the focus. As a consequence the school opposes horseshoes because they restrict the mechanism of the sane hoof."The Hoofcare Specialist’s Handbook" by Dr Hiltrud Strasser, Dr. med. vet., PhD and Sabine Kells,page 204Peter Laidely "Hoofworks- Barefoot Basics" E-book, page 207

The timetable also includes horse behaviour/communication , horse-keeping, nutrition/food, horse`s health/ illness and the physical development of horses.Natural Horse Magazine Vol 10, Issue 2, p.64

Alexander Nevzorov has tried different classical dressage- trainings, before he found this way of communication with a horse. [http://horseworld.ru/modules/AMS/article.php?storyid=202 Interview with Nevzorov (Russia)] Horse World 2002 Russia

For the benefit of the horse, the school gave up riding in 2010.

Lydia Nevzorova is a specialist in hippology and Equine Thermographist (musculoskeletal system). Her research with the University of Saint Petersburg showed that the rider`s weight destroys the back muscles of the horse and irritates the nerves inside the spinal column.Equine Anthalogy Vol.1 page 46< copy of the science proof University of Saint-Petersburg (14.12.2006 No 356/01-4)

Criticism of equestrian sport

{{npov-section|date=February 2013}}

The school claim to have the science proof that a Curb bit in the horses`mouth causes pain and "neurocranialis shocks".“Metal in the Mouth. The Abusive Effects of Bitted Bridles” by Dr. Robert Cook p.46Natural Horse Magazine, Volume 10 Issue 6 Equestrian Sports: Horses Don't Cry [http://www.hauteecole.ru/en/press.php?sid=0&id=756 Natural Horse Magazine]

On part of the school the "Horse Revolution" created a international-project, where they campaign for the horses`rights worldwide. Against Equestrian Sport Petition

They insinuate that jumping-competitions and especially horse-racings are brutal and cruel. More than 370 horses die yearly during or as a result of injuries from a race.[http://www.animalaid.org.uk/h/n/AA/HOME/ALL/1665// Animal Aid] " BRED TO DEATH"

Not only for its criticism of equestrian sport, the "Horse Revolution" is known, they also discriminate the horse-industry for producing slaughter horses.

Together with some international scientist, Nevzorov Haute Ecole Research Center tested the cruel and brutal effect of a simple whip like it is used in horse-races. The damage which is done on the musculature are proofen by obduction of horsesEquine Antaloghy Vol3. page 33

Objection

The preceptor of the school, Nevzorov published in 2012 that the school had managed to teach horses to read and understand human`s language. It was recorded that a horse can write in letters, in the language he was taught (Latin), his physically needs and term objects.LECTIO EQUARIA PALAESTRA (MANEGE HORSE READING) p.57; 2012 Similar "skills" of a horse were already used around 1900, with the counting horse Clever Hans, except that Clever Hans was discredited, as the horse was reading the subtle body language cues of his trainer, even when the trainer did not intend to be cueing the horse.{{cite web|url=http://skepdic.com/cleverhans.html|title=Clever Hans phenomenon|publisher=skepdic|accessdate=2008-12-11}}
