Early life and education

Erik Sigerud was born in 1977 in Borlänge, Sweden. He studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2004.{{cite web |title=Erik Sigerud - CV |website=Galleri Artem |url=https://www.galleriartem.com/eriksigerud |access-date=27 February 2025}} In 2003, he participated in an exchange program at Universität der Künste (UdK) in Berlin. Career

Sigerud began exhibiting in the early 2000s, receiving a special jury commendation at the Prix Paul-Louis Weiller exhibition in Paris in 2002. In Sweden, his early solo exhibitions were held at independent art spaces such as wip:konsthall in Stockholm (2005) and Gocart Gallery in Visby (2013).

In 2016, his solo exhibition Grader av intentionalitet ("Degrees of Intentionality") was presented at Tyresö Konsthall, followed by Gränsdragningar ("Demarcations") at Rättviks Konsthall in 2018. His 2023 solo show Between Appearance and Reality at Galleri Artem in Stockholm explored themes of perception versus reality.
