Hi. Since people seem to care about these things, I'm a middle-aged heterosexual white woman, happily married, with a daughter in her twenties. In one phase of my life, I taught classical studies at the university level and presented a few papers at conferences, but after completing my coursework for a doctorate and passing my exams in Latin, I went bonkers and decided the academic life wasn't for me. I've been a journalist and freelance writer and some other things, and my Wikipedia hobby allows me to share my interest in antiquity. I write here to learn, so I don't usually contribute substantially to topics for which I've done research actually intended to be "original". I grew up on a farm in Appalachia, and am now a proud Midwesterner in a small college town. —Cynwolfe (page design shamelessly stolen from {{U|Wareh}})

style="vertical-align: top; border-top: 1px solid gray;" | The Epic Barnstar is awarded to editors who make particularly fine History and Event-related contributions. This is being awarded to Cynwolfe for her tireless efforts to provide appropriate sourcing for the dies natalis of Marcus Antonius, in the face of relentless opposition, up to and including a research trip to the library and review of a German-language treatise. Endless patience and determination led to a successful outcome, in spite of the most frustrating of tasks! P Aculeius (talk) 13:49, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

I am unfamiliar with Wiki etiquette so I trust that you will forgive me for using your space to thank you for your encouraging remarks and good advice in commenting on the first draft of my piece on L. Aurelius Marcianus (October, 2013). Inspired by the first I have now re-submitted the piece having drastically copy-edited it in line with the second. (Whether or not I have done so satisfactorily I must leave it to others to judge). I have also put myself up for membership of the Classical Greek and Roman Project. (Being a "Belt'n'Braces" man I have taken the precaution of posting a corresponding acknowledgement under yours on my Home Page).Pjbjas (talk) 17:08, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
