Dweller's Ref Desk thread of the week award was established in August 2007. It is given on a sort of weekly basis to the Reference Desk thread that I arbitrarily and quite unfairly, deem to be the best.

The award used to be, erm, awarded on Fridays. But since I didn't award it at all from November 2007 until March 2009, when I revived it on a Tuesday, perhaps I shouldn't be so definitive about this. How about "I give it out when I remember." Feel free to leave me annoying reminders on my talk page if I've forgotten for a long time. If you don't, I'll just feel like it's unloved and has no need to exist, which will encourage my base underlying laziness.

Nominations

Users are welcome to nominate threads, by placing witty messages on my talk page. Flattery, including references to just how funny/appreciated/odd I am will help. As will nominating good threads.

Scoreboard

Here's a scoreboard that helps track how the various Desks are doing in competition with one another. Given that the criteria by which the awards are made are hardly stringent, this is probably meaningless. But I like it. Except it's still quite ugly. Hint hint. It'd be nice to add a flagcrufty icon for each line, for instance.
