I am a PhD candidate at the Syracuse University School of Information Studies. My research looks at the experience of newcomers in open online communities like Wikipedia. As such, I am here not only as a contributor to Wikipedia, but as a researcher, observing the activity of new Wikipedians.

As a Wikipedian I like to add images and videos to articles. At the moment my primary contribution to Wikipedia is conducting research for The Wikipedia Co-op.

From 2010 to 2013 I was a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador at Syracuse University and Cornell University.

Prior to graduate school I produced news segments for Current TV and founded [http://www.presspasstv.org/ Press Pass TV Inc.], a Boston based nonprofit that works with youth to produce civic minded video journalism.
