Gary Vines (1957-) is an Australian archaeologist and historian in Melbourne, Victoria Australia who studied history at the Univiersity of Melbournew and archaeology [[La Trobe University 1978-84.

He has specialised in industrial archaeology and the history of noxious trades and manufacturing, as well as working in the community heritage and consulting archaeology fields from the late 1980s.He has been part of the Community Reference Group for the Victorian Environmental AssessmentCcouncil Historic Places Investigation.[http://www.veac.vic.gov.au/investigation/investigation-into-historic-places/committees VEAC Historic Places Investigation Community Reference Group]
