It's been 2 years so maybe i should actually introduce myself for once?

Hey, I'm Hunter or IRBAT. I'm a recent changes patroller in my freetime and a student otherwise. I edit in bursts, when i spontaneously gain motivation to work. I do my best to avoid getting in conflicts, or causing any issues. I need to clean this place up some day.

I was the last post of April Fools 2023, I posted my comment exactly on 00:00 April 2nd, which was technically within the time frame where it didn't get denied for being to late.

= tips and advice=

1. Register early

Getting an account is a very important step towards contributing towards the wiki! Not only does it allow you to track your edits, it allows others to identify you for who you are, and could pay off big time in the future!

2. Sometimes, a job just isnt for you

There was a point where i thought I could write an article all by myself, i struggled and failed and almost quit wikipedia altogether! But shortly afterwards, a Teahouse Host pointed me towards the Recent Changes Patrol, and i found out that i loved the job! Sometimes, its not that you arent capable of doing a good job on the Wiki, you're just looking for purpose in the wrong place.

3. Wikipedia isnt a job

Its very important to remember that this is a hobby, volunteer work. Don't lose sleep over wikipedia, dont lose your job or friends, only edit it when you have time to spare that wont negatively effect you. Theres all the time in the world to edit this place, but only one lifetime for you to live.

4. Edit summaries are gods gift to reviewers

Using an edit summary turns a long lasting edit war into a matter of talking to eachother. When making a risky edit, DESCRIBE IT! Be BOLD but know that others may view your BOLDness as Vandalism, be ready to defend your points in a civil way.

5. Everyone screws up, but you need to move on

Violated a rule? Accidentally put bad content back into an article? Recieved a warning? Well, the best thing to do is put on your big boy pants, and move on. Getting stuck in the past and worrying about an edit that was months ago will only hurt you. Learn from your mistakes and dont forget them, but try your best to be more than just your failures

6. You are human

You are a wonderful living breathing hunk of meat on a stick typing onto the internet. Remember that you are a real, valid, amazing human being, and that this silly internet website wont define who you are, or whether or not you deserve to exist.

7. Take a few deep breaths

It can feel urgent to fix things, but you can make things worse by freaking out. The best thing to do when angry is to step away from the computer, take a break, drink some water, and when you're less angry, come back and fix things up. There's no time limit on Wikipedia

8. Learn

Take notes, imitate, learn what works and what doesnt. No one will be mad if you take a few pages out of their book to become a better wikipedian, so take time to learn from those around you. We're all here to help
