Based on a search of Wikipedia's articles related to Guyana, I've found some articles that I believe are about places in Guyana, and could usefully have geographical coordinates added.

The articles in question are listed in :Category:Guyana articles missing geocoordinate data. At the time of writing, some examples included:

1. Corriverton
2. King Edward VIII Falls
3. Mora Point
4. Pomeroon-Supenaam
5. Princeville, Guyana
6. Seweyo
7. Stabroek Market

...and there are many more, as well. At the time of posting this notice, there were 70 articles in this category needing geographical coordinates. --DThomsen8 (talk) 11:12, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

By adding coordinates, a Wikipedia reader can easily view the location on a street map, nautical chart, topographic map, by satellite photo, realtime weather map, and in many other ways. Coordinate data makes an article eventually appear in various services such as Google Maps' Wikipedia overlay, Google Earth, and Wikipedia's own internal map service. Coordinate data also helps readers looking for geographically-based data, such as locations near a reference point, or related information.

The articles are all marked with {{tl|coord missing}} tags, which need to be replaced with {{tl|coord}} tags that contain the location's latitude/longitude coordinates; or you might be able to add coordinates to an existing infobox. You can find out how to do this at the Wikipedia:Geocoding how-to for WikiProject members. Anyone making coordinate corrections should read Template:Coord/doc first. Some articles that do not display the coordinates in the upper right corner of the article have "display-title" missing from the Coord template.

Hi there,

Over the last few days, User:Dthomsen8 and I (mainly the former!) have identified 76 articles on places, natural and cultural features in Guyana that are currently lacking photographs and would be much improved by the addition of them. These include, for example:

• Iwokrama Forest
• Berbice River
• Shell Beach
• New Amsterdam
• Georgetown Cenotaph
• Brickdam Cathedral

These articles would all benefit hugely from the addition of a photograph, so any contribution to knocking one or more of these off the list would be greatly appreciated!
