Robert Wilhite (born May xx, 1946 in Santa Ana, California) is an American sculptor who works with sound, objects and performance. He received a B.A. degree in art from the University of California at Irvine where he studied artists including Larry Bell, Craig Kauffman and Robert Irwin; he studied with Chris Burden, Richard Newton, Barbara Smith and Alexis Smith. He received an M.F.A. degree from California State University at Northridge. He was a competitive swimmer and diver in high school and college (note).
