"Heartland" is a song by rock band U2. It is the thirteenth track on their 1988 album Rattle and Hum, and was included in the film of the same name. It was written during The Joshua Tree sessions, but not included on that release.{{why}}

Inspiration, writing, and recording

Heartland came out of a trip made by Adam and Bono. The lead singer claimed the song is full of little bits of traveloge from his journal.{{Cite book|title=U2 by U2|publisher=HarperCollins|date=|ISBN=978-0-06-077674-9|author=Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr.}}
