History
MySocialCloud was co-founded by Scott Ferreira, Stacey Ferreira, and Shiv Prakash in 2011.{{cite web|url=http://www.girlsintechla.org/v1/meet-the-whiz-behind-mysocialcloud-com/|title=Meet The Whiz Behind MySocialCloud.Com|date=October 5, 2012|publisher=Girls in Tech|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }} The idea for a one-stop password storage and login tool came when a computer crash left Scott without documents he used to store access information to his online data.
The siblings moved to Los Angeles and began to develop the company while living in a small apartment in in South Central LA.{{cite web|url=http://www.businessinsider.com/my-social-cloud-receives-funding-from-richard-branson-2012-6|title=Richard Branson's Tweet Scored An 18-Year-Old's Startup $1 Million In Funding|author=Andrea Huspeni|date=June 29, 2012|publisher=Business Insider|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }} In the summer of 2011, Stacey saw a tweet from Sir Richard Branson asking people to donate $2,000 to charity for the chance to fly to Miami and meet him over intimate cocktails.{{cite web|url=http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/startingup/start-ups/can-your-startup-snare-the-likes-of-billionaire-investor-richard-branson/|title=Can Your Startup Snare the Likes of Billionaire Investor Richard Branson?|author=DINAH WISENBERG BRIN|date=NOVEMBER 14, 2012|publisher=Young Entrepreneur|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }} The pair attended the event by borrowing $4,000 from their parents.{{cite web|url=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/18/mysocialcloud-founders-scott-stacey-ferreira_n_1682799.html|title=MySocialCloud's Founders On Starting A Company When You're Too Young To Drink (Q&A)|author=Britney Fitzgerald|date=July 27, 2012|publisher=The Huffington Post|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }} At the event, they spoke with Branson one-on-one and were able to secure his contact details.{{cite web|url=http://www.openforum.com/articles/why-richard-branson-gave-400000-to-an-18-year-old/|title=Why Richard Branson Gave $400,000 to an 18-Year-Old |author=Katie Morell|date=JUNE 25, 2012|publisher=Open Forum|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }}

Later that night over dinner, Jerry announced that he and Branson would be investing in MySocialCloud, making the siblings, ages 18 and 20 at the time, the youngest investments of both Sir Richard Branson and Jerry Murdock.
Services
MySocialCloud is cloud-based, and the platform lets users securely store passwords and automatically log into several social media websites simultaneously. The website auto-populates password fields, letting the user log into all of the sites at the push of a button.{{cite web|url=https://mysocialcloud.com/#!/aboutus|title=About MySocialCloud.com|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }}
MySocialCloud also provides users with security updates for the websites they have included in their profile, and informs users if a website has been hacked.{{cite web|url=https://mysocialcloud.com/#!/security|title=Security|accessdate= 22 May 2013 }} Security played a major role during development of the platform. Passwords stored on MySocialCloud are salted and hashed with a two-way encryption method known as AES. MySocialCloud has said the encryption method is sufficiently complex that it would take trillions of years for passwords to be hacked via brute force.
