User:Modus Vivendi
Modus Vivendi is Latin for method of living, but appeals to the present author because it's the only foreign phrase he convinced an attentive but language-shy
listener to learn and adopt (he used modus operandi when modus vivendi would have been more appropriate) during his time as a graduate student at an American university.
In any event, I am a Canadian former academic now working
in high technology, with advanced training in science, and
knowledge of several foreign languages.
I am a long-term observer of Canadian politics, mystery
novels, and a few other things, and I try to correct obvious
errors I observe in those areas.
I have been on the internet since 1989, and I may be
available if events so develop in the future to play
a technical role in Wikipedia.
Here are a few things I have contributed to Wikipedia
- Macroscope
- Children of the Thunder
- Category Nero Wolfe -- a gateway to many things about the irascible corpulent Manhattan detective, some contributed by me, others merely gathered under one roof.
- I have now added the Category Nero Wolfe novels
- The pre-existing Nero Wolfe page contains a list of Rex Stout and Robert Goldsborough books and stories. I have been gradually adding individual pages for the various books by each author and eventually the lists on the Nero Wolfe page may become partially redundant.
- Nero Wolfe novel summaries
- The Doorbell Rang
- Might As Well Be Dead
- The Silent Speaker
- Murder in E-Minor
- Not Quite Dead Enough
- The Bishop's Mantle
