Aphrodite's Hymen has had several incarnations. Originally Aphrodite's Hymen was formed by Meggie K and Dorian Rosavox in 2001 as an acoustic duo. In 2001 Aphrodite's Hymen backpacked through Europe playing cafes. Dorian Rosavox, a singer songwriter, continued under the name Aphrodite's Hymen as a solo project in San Francisco, California. Aphrodite's Hymen completed a cross country tour in 2002 with San Francisco poet Charlie Getter.
