User:Opto kitty

Hi I'm Dr. Y. L. Li; I'm a full time physics researcher at University College London. I began editing Wikipedia in June 2018 after attending a Wikithon; please have good faith when reviewing my articles as I am new and create articles in my spare time.

I would like to increase the number of Wikipedia articles about women in science and female tech entrepreneurs (note that I also edit other pages too, not related to Women in STEM).

Background

I am currently an EPSRC Doctoral Prize fellow in the department of Physics & Astronomy at University College London. My field of study is optomechanics and you can read about my research on my [https://www.yingliali.com personal website].

I completed my Ph.D. titled Cooling and sensing using whispering gallery mode resonators at University College London in 2016{{Cite web|url=http://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/1522162/|title=Cooling and sensing using whispering gallery mode resonators|last=YL|first=Li,|date=2016-10-28|website=discovery.ucl.ac.uk|access-date=2018-06-06}}.

Wikipedia activities

I first started editing Wikipedia after attending a Wikithon organised by the Women's Engineering Society at Imperial College in June 2018.

I organised a Women in STEM Wikithon at University College London in July 2018.{{Cite web|url=https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/women-in-stem-wikithon-tickets-47822551539#|title=Women in STEM Wikithon|website=Eventbrite|language=en-GB|access-date=2018-08-14}} {{Participant:Women in Red August 2018 achievements}}

I am participating in the Women in Red August 2018 edit-a-thon.
