History
4DS was founded in 2007 by Australian based company 4D-S Pty, Ltd. 4DS has had success with ReRAM by using patented technology created by their development team.{{cite web|last=LaPedus|first=Mark|title=Australian startup claims RRAM breakthrough|url=http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4081321/Australian-startup-claims-RRAM-breakthrough|work=RRAM Breakthrough|publisher=EE Times|accessdate=23 June 2011}}
=Partnerships=
- 2011 - Partnered with SEMATECH to build a full transistor-memory http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/12/idUS43845+12-Apr-2011+MW20110412
- 2011 - Partnered with Data Storage Institute(DSI) to develop 16Kbit ReRAM prototype with memory controller http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4216488/Singapore-4DS-RRAM
Technology
The ReRAM under development from 4DS is expected to use 2,000 times less energy than flash and is up to 1,000 times faster.
MOHJO (Metal Oxide Hetero Junction Operation) is a non-volatile memory where the storage cell can have a low resistance or a high resistance. Information is stored in the form of material resistance, which can be changed by an applied voltage.http://www.4-d-s.com/rram.htmFile:4DS MOHJO (TM).jpg
