History

4DS was founded in 2007 by Australian based company 4D-S Pty, Ltd. 4DS has had success with ReRAM by using patented technology created by their development team.{{cite web|last=LaPedus|first=Mark|title=Australian startup claims RRAM breakthrough|url=http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4081321/Australian-startup-claims-RRAM-breakthrough|work=RRAM Breakthrough|publisher=EE Times|accessdate=23 June 2011}}

=Partnerships=

  • 2011 - Partnered with SEMATECH to build a full transistor-memory http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/12/idUS43845+12-Apr-2011+MW20110412
  • 2011 - Partnered with Data Storage Institute(DSI) to develop 16Kbit ReRAM prototype with memory controller http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4216488/Singapore-4DS-RRAM

Technology

The ReRAM under development from 4DS is expected to use 2,000 times less energy than flash and is up to 1,000 times faster.

MOHJO™ (Metal Oxide Hetero Junction Operation) is a non-volatile memory where the storage cell can have a low resistance or a high resistance. Information is stored in the form of material resistance, which can be changed by an applied voltage.http://www.4-d-s.com/rram.htmFile:4DS MOHJO (TM).jpg
