Some tips for experienced editors, on improving the Technical robustness of articles:
Dates
Where applicable, dates (of birth, creation, founding, etc; or death, demolition, disestablishment etc.) should use {{tl|Start date}} or {{tl|End date}}.
= Biographies =
Check that dates of birth and (if applicable) death are provided, and add categories if not.
Add categories:
- :Category:Year of birth missing
- :Category:Date of birth missing
- :Category:Year of birth missing (living people)
- :Category:Date of birth missing (living people)
- :Category:Year of death missing
- :Category:Date of death missing
if dates are missing
Coordinates
When using {{tl|Coord}}, make sure the type parameter is set, and the region parameter is not only set, but as specific as possible e.g. region:GB-BIR
for Birmingham, not just region:GB
).
If an article has an infobox, and title coordinates, the coordinates should also display in the infobox.
Categories
Ensure that categories are not redundant (e.g. if :Category: People from Birmingham, West Midlands is used, then :Category: People from the West Midlands (county) and :Category: People from England are redundant
Lists
- Use {{tl|Flatlist}} rather than comma-separated lists
- Use {{tl|Plainlist}} rather than
-separated lists
