"I feel I need to start to relate my interest to biology. I am hoping to be a medical doctor in my future years. Medicine and the human body are direct points of interest for me. Biology will help me further this goal, and if I can write endlessly about something it must be something with some weight, some meaning to me. I want to choose, for my article, something that has impacted my life. With a grandfather who suffers from macular degeneration, and a grandmother whom has lost all sense of taste and smell, I feel it near and dear to my heart to choose one of these subjects and research endlessly. Maybe, with my article I can help my family, and maybe even society." -

I wrote this my senior year of high school! Now I am pursuing a doctorate in Political Science, wow how things change!
