Ringpicker is a nom-de-plume given to me by the Hash House Harriers

My real name is Tony Young and I was born in Dover, UK in 1950. Not a distinguished school record, went to City University in London and failed miserably at Physics. I joined Shell Research in 1971 as a Mathematician at The Borden Laboratory of Woodstock Agricultural Research Centre near Sittingbourne in Kent, UK. Here I gained early computer analyst and programmer skills, going 'on the road' in 1975 to Germany, Holland and Papua New Guinea, emigrating into Australia in 1982.

I reside in far North Queensland, Australia and look after injured wildlife as Daintree Wildlife Rescue
