South Dakota first High School Basketball Tournament was held on the campus of Huron College on

Saturday, March 16, 1912. Teams from Arlington, Centerville, Lake Preston, Madison, Miller, Pierre,

Redfield and Salem gathered for a single elimination tournament. Redfield defeated Lake Preston,

33-25, in the final game to take home a silver cup trophy.
