The Boeing Technical Fellowship program is a highly selective technical leadership career path at The Boeing Company, similar in nature to the IBM Fellows program. Established in 1989, the Technical Fellows’ role is to set technical direction for Boeing.[http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20100523/BIZ/705209664/1005 "Crucial Boeing talent nearing retirement," Everett Herald]. There are three levels in the Boeing Technical Fellowship program: Associate Technical Fellow, Technical Fellow, and Senior Technical Fellow [http://www.boeing.com/news/frontiers/archive/2004/april/mainfeature.html "Good Fellows," Boeing Frontiers, 2004].
The program includes approximately 1.5% of Boeing’s workforce and represents “some of the best engineering and scientific minds at Boeing and in the industry.”[http://www.boeing.com/news/frontiers/archive/2009/november/cover.pdf "The Go To Gang," Boeing Frontiers 2009]
