Thierry Gonçalves Blannchard

Thierry Gonçalves Blannchard (born July 12, 2000) is a Brazilian ballet and contemporary dancer based in New York City. Also, the creator of the page @emqualqueresquina, and an independent model. He is currently a company artist with Ballet Hispánico, one of the biggest ballet companies in NYC, and the largest Latin Company in the USA. Mr. Blannchard, has performed with several companies in Brazil and the United States, including Collage Dance Collective, Eglevsky Ballet, and Basileu França Company.

Early Life and Education

Blannchard was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and began his dance training at the age of eight at the Elizandra Bellotto School. In 2016, he received a scholarship to study at the Bolshoi Theatre School in Brazil, where he had a vast training program including Ballet, Contemporary, Piano, Duet classes, Acting, Pas De Deux, Brazilian Dancers and more. Thierry, also has experience in jazz, modern dance capoeira, and traditional Brazilian dance.

Career

From 2019 to 2020, Blannchard, danced as a trainee with the Bolshoi Brasil Júnior Company and joined the Basileu França Company a year later. In 2022, he moved to New York and joined Eglevsky Ballet as a trainee under the direction of Maurice Brandon Curry.

Later that year, he joined Collage Dance Collective, a Memphis-based ballet company committed to diversity and excellence in dance. In 2025, Blannchard became a company artist with Ballet Hispánico, one of the leading Latino dance organizations in the United States. As of 2025, he is the only Brazilian dancer in the company, representing his cultural background on an international stage.

Blannchard has performed in both classical and contemporary works. His repertoire includes:

He has worked with choreographers such as Goyo Montero, Amy Hall Garner, Hope Boykin, and Cassi Abranches.

Recognition and Media

Blannchard earned third place at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) in Brazil and got a place for the YAGP Finals in New York. He was featured on the cover of Memphis Health & Fitness magazine in 2024 and has been the subject of media coverage in outlets including Brazilian Times and G1 Brasil. He is also a Só Dança ambassador.
