Tim Pierce is a Boston-area software engineer and recovering Usenetter.
In a former life I was moderately well known for kibitzing on Usenet software [http://www.newsreaders.com/misc/twpierce/news/], being a cranky contrarian [http://www.vic.com/~dbd/minifaqs/tim-pierce.FAQ.gz] and reading bad pornography [http://www.ibiblio.org/usenet-i/groups-html/rec.arts.erotica.html].
I am still not, when last I checked, an L.A. session guitarist or a [http://thesundevils.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/pierce_tim00.html basketball player for the Arizona State Sun Devils].
To date I am still unimpressed with the Arctic Monkeys.
WikiFriends include {{u|Bcordes}}, {{u|Shevett}}, {{u|Agaran}}, {{u|CruiserBob}}, {{u|Jrlevine}}, {{u|Vzafrin}}, {{u|Moominmolly}} and {{u|Joelfurr}}. Jay and I used to have a mighty fine feud going on, but it turns out he's really a pretty cool guy.
Wikipedia Contributions
My contributions to Wikipedia include:
- I negotiated a substantial rewrite of the Jewish Defense League article during a December 2005 revert war that both parties accepted.
- PhotoCatBot, a bot that categorizes generic photo requests and promotes easier navigation of :Category:Wikipedia requested photographs and subcategories.
- Recently I've become enthusiastic about contributing photographs to Wikipedia, mostly by scouring articles under :Category:Wikipedia requested photographs for practical contributions I can make. Articles I have contributed images to include:
