This is a request for a tool to help clean-up the long backlog of requests for photographs.
The situation
There are hundreds of thousands of image requests on talk pages of articles. Some sub-categories of :Category:Wikipedia requested photographs contain more than a thousand requests and according to [http://toolserver.org/~jarry/imagechecker/index.php Image checker] a large number of which have images. Image checker however cannot always provide an accurate report as there are many types of images that can be on a page. Before removing an {{tp|Image Requested}} or equivalent template the article page needs to be visually checked. This manual checking of the article page then editing of the talk page takes some time.
Request
A tool is needed that can go through a list of talk pages and remove image request templates or remove image-needed parameters from project templates while providing a visual display of the article page. The user of the tool has the ability to save or skip the edit.
Proposed solutions
- Tool similar to AutoWikiBrowser that displays the article page in panel of the talk page it is editing.
