Freedom through football (full title Freedom through football : the story of the Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls) is a book telling the history of the Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls, a sports and social club in Bristol, UK.
Content
The book was published in 2012 to coincide with the club's 20th anniversary. Its focus is on football, although other sports, activities and related issues such as social justice and inclusion are also included. Its preface is written by a former landlord of The Plough pub in Easton, Bristol. Its photos include some previously unpublished material showing pixellated images of political activist and artist Banksy, taken while touring Chiapas in Mexico.
Co-author and club secretary Will Simpson, writing in STIR magazine, explained that the book also explores the club's "principles and ethics".
