Some basic background about me.

- mathematical linguist
- male
- minor degree in Japanese language, with some further grad studies in Japanese language and culture
- Lived in Russia for 10 years, native-like proficiency in all aspects of Russian language and culture
- 3rd dan ZNKR Iaido (ZNKR seitei Iai, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, Yamamoto Harutsuke-ha, all aspects, including Tachi Uchi no Kurai, Tsume Ai no Kurai and Daikendori), practicing since 2004, 3rd place at national competition 6 years ago, fighting spirit at nationals 3 years ago.
- 4th dan ZNKR Jodo (ZNRK seitei Jo, Shindo Muso Ryu, Tokyo-ha (Omote, Chuden, Ran-Ai, tanjo, kenjitsu)), practicing since 2005
- Ikkyu Aikido Aikikai (formerly ASU, now USAF), practicing since 2002
- studies of Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) since 2010
- basic functional knowledge of Kendo, Tae Kwon-do, and Judo.
