Speedy deletion nomination of :Anna Kaelin

Image:Ambox warning_pn.svg A tag has been placed on :Anna Kaelin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. 1. 25px Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. : Hi there. I can see you've run into some problems creating your first article due a conflict of interest. A couple of things have also caught my eye. Firstly, you're putting external links both in the wrong place as well as for an inappropriate topic; please note that social networking sites and any commercial sites are prone to removal as spam. Secondly, you're incorrectly writing lead sections. I'd suggest you read both the links in my paragraph here, as well as look at the welcome message at the top. Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of :IVTOM

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on :IVTOM, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the . Managing a conflict of interest

File:Information.svg Hello, Anna.kaelin. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page :IVTOM, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

 • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
 • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the edit COI template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
 • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
 • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
 • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:25, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

Dean Kaelin

I have moved your husband/son's page back to draft. Due to your relationship with him, you may not edit the article. DACartman (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

:This is not my son or husband. There was nothing on the page that was self-promoting, purely informational with facts and links to back it up, however, I was blocked for conflict of interest. Anna.kaelin (talk) 00:34, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

::As it were, you were reported before the Dean Kaelin article was created as you had twice created an article about yourself and then created a promotional article about IVTOM. The conflict of interest with Dean Kaelin seemed apparent since you have the same surname. TornadoLGS (talk) 02:48, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

::Ok. I am unfamiliar with wikipedia posing, so I will look at that "articles for creating", how to a claim a COI. and what constitutes a COI? Anna.kaelin (talk) 15:37, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

:::posting^ Anna.kaelin (talk) 15:38, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

:::A conflict of interest is when you have any kind of relationship with a person, group, or thing that you're related to, such as family/friends/employers/teachers, an organization that you're a member of or work for or that your family/friends work for, or an album you produced. It seems like you have a conflict with Anna and Dean Kaelin and IVTOM. Are you planning on writing about anything or anyone else that you have a relationship with? voorts (talk/contributions) 16:14, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

::::Totally understood when I was told I had a COI in 2009 when I was writing about myself, however, didn't understand why it was a COI for IVTOM, a business I have never been employed with, and then when I did the one for my Dad (Dean), but used other resources and made it strictly informational. But no, I do not have any plans to create any more pages. How do companies, artists, etc. get their pages published if people who know them (managers, etc.) cannot create the pages for them? Anna.kaelin (talk) 01:06, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::Wikipedia articles are meant to distill what reliable secondary sources have said about the topic. When those sources start covering the topic, it naturally emerges that uninvolved parties will create an article. Primary sources can provide information, but only secondary sources can indicate if a topic is notable to begin with. signed, Willondon (talk) 01:17, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

::::Also what is the difference between promotional vs. informational in wikipedia terms? The IVTOM page I created was not selling anything, but told the history of the creation of the organization, etc. Anna.kaelin (talk) 01:09, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::Promotional doesn't need to mean selling something. It can also mean that it's written in a way to portray the topic in a positive light. Sentences like this are usually considered promotional in the Wikipedia community: "The organization strives to teach natural, unaffected, and healthy vocal production, with a return to pure bel canto singing in all styles and is available to people on all continents and countries." voorts (talk/contributions) 01:15, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::Wikipedia articles are only published for topics that meet what's called our "notability guideline". Basically, a topic should only have an article on Wikipedia if it has received "significant coverage" in sources that the Wikipedia community considers to be reliable and are independent of the person who wrote them. For example, a company that has had several newspaper stories and a book chapter written about its history, structure, and products would probably have an article; a company that has only ever published in the Yellow Pages and had one write-up in a local publication a decade ago would not. To answer your question of how companies, artists, etc. get articles that stay up, that usually happens when (1) a random person creates an article or (2) a person at the company or an editor on their behalf produces an article that meets Wikipedia's standards and successfully and transparently discloses that there is a conflict of interest. Many companies also have people on staff or at PR firms that disclose their employment arrangement and make edit requests to existing articles. voorts (talk/contributions) 01:12, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::Even though you've never worked for IVTOM, you have a COI with it because your father is founded it. voorts (talk/contributions) 01:15, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

::::::Ok thank you for this. So to disclose a COI you put that in the talk page of that article? Anna.kaelin (talk) 14:24, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::::Also, for that line you quoted from the IVTOM article would it be ok to put that it is their mission statement? Anna.kaelin (talk) 14:28, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

:::::::Yes, I added a disclosure for you on the talk page of the draft. I would recommend taking a look at articles on Wikipedia about other non profits to get a sense about what kind of tone is expected. voorts (talk/contributions) 14:43, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

::::::::Thanks Anna.kaelin (talk) 16:15, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Dean Kaelin.jpg

File:Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading :File:Dean Kaelin.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add permission pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:45, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

:Hi Anna.kaelin. Wikipedia needs some way of verifying that the copyright holder of this photo has given their :WP:CONSENT for to be uploaded and used as licensed. The link you've provided on the file's page is insufficient for that purpose. Please be advised that the person taking a photo (not the subject of the photo) is typically considered to be its copyright holder, and it's this person's consent that Wikipedia needs to verify. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:49, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
