    {{tlx|helpme}}

    Hello. First of all, who are you, and how did you know I needed help? I assume you don't check my talk page everyday.

    Secondly, if I have an issue with a rarely frequented page, obviously its discussion page is the place to put something like that. Do people get alerted to it? How would people ever know about my suggestion without checking the discussion page, which looks like no one ever visits?

    For example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:M.C._Burton,_Jr. has an empty discussion page, and the following statement in the article looks wrong to me: "On graduating from high school, Burton announced he was not interested in playing in the NBA" because it is right after his college section and it seems like something that would be announced after college, but not knowing anything about Burton I wouldn't make the change, rather just suggest that it might be wrong on the discussion page? Thanks Anythingapplied (talk) 13:50, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

    :I frequently look at :CAT:HELP. You used the {{tlx|helpme}} tag so your username was listed there.

    :People keep pages in their watchlist, so whenever an edit is made to a watchlisted page, it creeps up in the watchlist. If you post on that talk page and somebody has it watchlisted, he/she might reply. You can also use the {{tlx|editsemiprotected}} tag to request changes in semi-protected articles (until you get autoconfirmed yourself you are already autoconfirmed). Such requests are listed at CAT:ESP. –Capricorn42 (talk) 14:02, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

    ::How did you know I was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:User_access_levels#Autoconfirmed ? (what is a better way to link to that?)

    ::Also, is there a test ground to try Wikipedias more advanced features? Like how would I create a category? Anythingapplied (talk) 14:35, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

    Anyone with an account 4 days old and at least 10 edits automatically receives autoconfirmation :)

    Better way to link is to use this syntax Wikipedia:User_access_levels#Autoconfirmed , it will produce this link:Wikipedia:User_access_levels#Autoconfirmed

    Also autoconfirmed will produce autoconfirmed

    There is a [http://en.labs.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page test wiki] - you are allowed to do anything you want there except posting libel. But there's no need to go there in order to learn using wikipedia. You can learn just by doing stuff right here. See Help pages for details and start editing; even if you make a mistake somebody will come along and fix it. –Capricorn42 (talk) 14:43, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
