Founded in 2002, The Hereditary Society Community of the United States of America (HSC){{cite web |url=http://www.hereditary.us |title=The Hereditary Society Community of the United States of America |last= |first= |date= |website=The Hereditary Society Community of the United States of America |access-date=27 February 2021}} is a non-profit organization which administrates the public interface of over 300 lineage societies. HSC meets annually in Washington, DC. Each year several leaders of active lineage societies are recognized at the event as [http://www.hereditary.us/alphahon.htm Honorary Members] of HSC, and receive a perpetual listing, accordingly. Additionally, HSC actively engages collaboration between the various, diverse lineage societies, to coordinate a cohesive annual [http://www.hereditary.us/meetings.htm schedule of meetings], as well as provide access to a clearing house for accurate, vetted contact and membership information, as well as the [http://www.hereditary.us/decorations.htm insignia and regalia] associated with the many groups within the community.

Based on the original model of [http://www.hereditary.us/rountree.htm John Griffin Richardson Rountree's] 1971 publication, The Hereditary Register, HSC's founder, [https://prabook.com/web/barry.howard/369394 Barry Christopher Howard] created and developed the organization to increase synergy between the burgeoning community of disparate organizations.
