When you listify/redirect a cricketer, you also have to remove them from Wikipedia:Lugstubs 2 list. I did this for you now. --Altenmann >talk 06:57, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:The discussion at Wikipedia talk:Lugstubs 2 list and at the VP suggested not to – it simply adds more time to a very long and arduous process. I think the plan is to use the articles that are still tagged as the way to do this. But thanks. I might get some more redirects done, but I shall leave the process of removing them from the list to the end – the priority has to be to do the redirects first I think

:I'm now fairly certain I won't get to the Indian or Sri Lankan lists at all, which make up a substantial proportion of the original list I think Blue Square Thing (talk) 08:50, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

BTW, the alphabetized Wikipedia:Lugstubs 2 list ends with De. Where is the rest? --Altenmann >talk 07:16, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:The original proposal identified 1,182 stubs out of a total of something like 5,194 (originally there were 1,200 but some were found to be clearly inappropriate to include on the list and were picked out by an automated process in error). I think these were supposed to be a trial to show that the automated system worked really well. I don't think it has, given the number of redirects, but there you are. There's a full list somewhere I think, but I don't remember where – it might be linked ay WP:LUGSTUBS2 or be somewhere in BilledMammal's sub pages. Blue Square Thing (talk) 08:50, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

:Dropping this here as I'm sure someone will check here:

:The process or redirecting and removing tags is now under way. I'm focussing on removing tags and redirecting. It takes a long time and all has to be done by hand. I've stopped doing anything to the talk pages – it's just taking so long. Thanks to all the people who have been cleaning them up, but if there were an automated way to do this it would really, really help matters. I'm aware that I'm leaving work for other people to do in the short term. I'm really sorry about that. I will try and return to the talk pages if I can do, but sorting out the articles seems like a sensible priority in the relatively little time I'll have to do this Blue Square Thing (talk) 09:13, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
