Gerald Kelley

Do you have any objection to me nominating your article Gerald Kelley for "Did You Know?" together with the other related articles? The hook would be something like this below. Or do you want a separate hook specifically about Gerald Kelley? Note that if we include Gerald Kelley in the multi-hook, it will appear on the Hall of Fame. wumbolo ^^^ 10:05, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

{{Ping|Wumbolo}} I do not, thought it seems a bit odd to exclude the author of the one book and the illustrator of the other. I never managed to beef up the Jill Twiss article though. I asked her about possible sources, but none of them were very informative of appropriate. But Karen Pence could be included, bringing the total up to six. Dalsegnoalfine (talk) 17:15, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

Fyi, Template:Did you know nominations/Marlon Bundo books is the page where the DYK discussion is taking place. wumbolo ^^^ 17:30, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

Excluding seems weird, but our hook should be of reasonable length, and we shouldn't link to bad or poorly sourced articles. Karen Pence could be included as a link (not bold) because we can't nominate it because it is too old. DYK is for articles which were created (or expanded fivefold etc.) in the last 7 days. The Jill Twiss article is a bit too old, which doesn't mean it can't be included in the hook. I don't exactly understand; did you ask Jill Twiss about sources? Do you know her? (you don't have to answer) wumbolo ^^^ 17:36, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give :Draft:Gerald Kelley a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into :Gerald Kelley. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. wumbolo ^^^ 18:32, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

User:Wumbolo No, I don't know her. I just came across her email address while doing the research and dropped her a line, but to no avail. Until she does a decent interview somewhere, the article is where it's at... Dalsegnoalfine (talk) 18:47, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

References

Please read this section of the Visual editor manual,

as you've been adding the same reference multiple times. For reference, WP:REFNAME describes how to do that using wikitext. Cheers, wumbolo ^^^ 13:20, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Did You Know issues

A review of Gerald Kelley has been completed and has some issues that have to be addressed in order to process the article through DYK:

{{tq|The Gerald Kelley article is long enough and newly written within the proper time period for eligibility. The article has inline citations verify his role in the proposed hooks. However, there are unsourced sentence-paragraphs, which aside from being unsourced, do not look great from a MOS:LAYOUT standpoint. Also, use of "currently" is vague and "livened up the pages" is WP:PUFFERY. Article is not approved.}}
